48 Days to Go: I'm Turning 50! 50 GlowTips I’m sharing to Spread the Glow!

48 days to go till I turn 50!
So I’ve decided to share 50 GlowTips to Get Your Glow ON – one per day, in no particular order of importance and just as they come to me…

And here’s GlowTip 3:

3) There’s always a funny side!

Whatever the circumstances. And thanks to my sense of the ridiculous, I’m always able to see it. Even during the darkest times.

It got me into a lot of trouble when I was younger. But in fact, I think it’s my sense of humour that’s saved me – and often pulls others out of their stress too, even for a few moments.

People who know me know that I laugh a lot. I can’t help myself. I find Life very amusing!

There are very few times and places when laughter is inappropriate.
(Personally, I believe it’s always appropriate! Life is so boring without it!)
Our laughter uplifts us and those around us - so what could be inappropriate about that?

Admittedly, there are some situations where laughter would be frowned upon, (yes, I’ve been there!) and one does need to keep a straight face (not always that easy!) – but you can still chuckle inside!

Laughing with Life doesn’t mean that you’re not taking it seriously. It means you’re finding Joy in the moment and having fun along the way. AND you’re sending Good Energy out into the world.
It’s contagious – who doesn’t love to laugh?

Laughter is good for us! The physiological benefits of laughter are widely documented. It diffuses stress and tension and stimulates our inspiration and creativity.

So, vot’s not to laugh?!

When we lighten UP and laugh often, we rock our health and happiness and Spread the Glow!

With Love,

49 Days to Go: I'm Turning 50! 50 GlowTips I’m sharing to Spread the Glow!

49 days to go!
Following on from yesterday: “In 50 days from now I’ll be turning 50! So I’ve decided to share 50 GlowTips to Get Your Glow ON – one per day, starting today, in no particular order of importance and just as they come to me…”

#GlowTip 2) You cannot ‘make’ another person happy.
This is something I used to (I say used to, but I still do) struggle with…
Because who wants to be around miserable, grumpy, morose, belligerent people? Definitely not me! It’s unpleasant. It’s debilitating. And it’s just not fun!

So I’d do whatever I could, turning myself inside out, stressing over their pain and trying everything I possibly could to make them happy. Sometimes for years. But all that did was break me down.
They were still miserable and I was making myself miserable too. So who wants to give themselves pain?

What I’ve learned is that you can’t drag someone kicking and screaming into Love, Happiness and Joy. That’s got to come from inside. They’ve got to feel it in themselves.

You can bring happiness and you can share happiness.

But you are not here to make other people happy.
Your job is to Light UP the way! (Even if that means lighting your way to the nearest exit!)

So here’s to tuning into your Joy and letting your light . Rock your happiness and you’ll Spread the Glow as far as it can go!

With Love,

I'm Turning 50! 50 GlowTips I’m sharing to Spread the Glow!

I can hardly believe it myself - in 50 days from now I'm turning 50!
So I’ve decided to share 50 GlowTips to Get Your Glow ON – one per day, starting today, in no particular order of importance and just as they come to me…

#GlowTip 1) You can’t worry your way to inspiration! It’s impossible to be inspired when your thoughts are going around and around in a downward spiral of angst – because your own fear is what’s blocking out the Good Stuff!
Inspiration comes when our minds are calm and open.

I know when I’m driving myself crazy trying to figure things out, that the best thing I can do is to give my mind a break and do something else. Because you can’t focus on two things at once.

So if you do something that UPlifts You – visualise your life the way you want it to be; play, laugh and have some fun — you’ll shift out of fear and allow inspiration to flow.

When we get out of our minds and into our hearts, we tune into the Good Stuff and Spread the Glow!

Next GlowTip coming up tomorrow...

 With Love,

If I am not there for Me, who will be?

Life is so ironic – and we’ve just got to see the funny side. Because if we don’t, we would weep…!

One of the ongoing issues that affects women, and something that I coach women business owners to do - is to stand up for themselves, and to value themselves and not to accept less than what they’re worth.

I was busy working on a women’s program (managed by a male client), when I had to put this into practice and stand UP for MySelf.

Firstly, when the client argued about paying my rate and undercut me substantially. And secondly, when I didn’t receive payment after I had delivered the program.

Even though I was upset about this – I followed up in the nicest way possible. I didn’t want to lose my equanimity. I wasn’t looking to start a fight. I was friendly, but firm.

And then suddenly – I was the Bad Guy!
Even though the money was owed to me for a job I had successfully delivered – I was made to feel bad for asking for it?? The client became defensive and our relationship headed downhill. But at the very least, I got paid!

What a huge disappointment! I was doing the work that I loved – and it was bringing benefit to all. I had great feedback from the ladies who attended, and was excited to continue the program.

I am still trying to find the fine line between being bullied and being a pushover, and standing UP for MySelf successfully in the workplace.

But in hindsight (and a lesson for next time) I should not have engaged in a relationship with someone who did not value me from the outset.

I know it’s fear that keeps us in abusive relationships – and I’ve been in my fair share of those both personally and professionally.

So I’m doing my best to value MySelf more and to walk my talk, no matter how scary it may seem.

Because if I am not there for me – who will be? ♥

It’s Treat YourSelf Tuesday! Stand UP for Wonderful You! (Today - and every other day) ☺
